Based in Nevada are the USAF Air Demonstration Squadron "The Thunderbirds" they are assigned to the 57th Wing. Starting in 1952 over 72 years ago, the Thunderbirds are the third oldest flying aerobatic team. They tour the United States and a lot of the world. They switched to the F16 in 1983 after four members of the team in 1982 were killed in what is known as the "Diamond Crash" of the T-38 Talon.
